Richard Echevarria, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023 at the age of 82. Born in the Bronx, New York on May 17, 1941, he was the son of the late Antulio Carmelo Algarin and Carmen Theresa (Balara) Echevarria.
Rich was a tool and dye designer by trade and honorably served in the United States Navy on the USS Kitty Hawk from 1961-1964. He loved sports and coaching his children and grandchildren. He volunteered in many ways and was past President of the Whitpain Recreation Association (WRA).
Rich is survived by his children, Richard (Tammy), David (Gary Bagley), Diana Sheronas (Steve), and John; grandchildren, Justin (Kim), Ryan (Jacqui), Patrick (Janet) Echevarria, Kelsey, Samantha, Jessica Sheronas and Keira Echevarria and four great grandchildren (Luke, Callen, Finley and Josephine Echevarria); and siblings Michael Echevarria, Marianne Harp and Diane Scaife. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Antulio and sister Carmen (Tait).
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 13th from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA. His funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am. At a later date, a private interment will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
