Walter Wogotz Obituary

Walter Wogotz, 91, of Wilson Borough, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, PA.

Born on July 13, 1933, in Coopersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley and Pauline (Karpowic) Wogotz.

Growing up, Walter worked on his family’s farm, where he cared for many different kinds of animals. After graduating high school, Walter went to work for Joseph Ciccone & Sons, in Bath, PA, as a heavy equipment operator and hauler. He continued his career with Muschlitz Excavating, until he retired in his mid-seventies. Walter was an avid hunter in his younger years and enjoyed sharing a cold beer with his friends, family, and co-workers. He never missed a NASCAR race and was an ardent supporter of Jeff Gordon. Walter was also known for taking great pride in the maintenance of his lawn and property, trimming his shrubs meticulously until the very end.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Jacqueline A. (Reinhart) Wogotz, his daughter, Tara Cooke and her husband, Mark, of Wilson Borough, PA, and his grandchildren, Leo and Erin Cooke. Walter is also survived by nieces Bonnie Mahler, Patricia Royer, Annette Knibbs, Elaine Higgens, and Kathy Takerer, and a nephew, Barry Marczeski. In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by his brother, John Marczeski, his sisters, Anna and Jennie (Hrabina), his nephews John Jr., Richard, and Edward Marczeski, and William Hrabina Jr., his niece, Yvonne Gleockler, and his beloved companion, Bear.

A Calling Period is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA, with a Memorial Service to directly follow.
