Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Airone, 76, of Easton, PA passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Born In Brooklyn, NY in 1948 to the late Francis and Letizia (Barbato) Ciccone. Mary Lou moved to Massapequa, NY in 1974 with her husband of now 50 years Bernard Airone. In 2004 they sold their home to retire to Venice, Fl, where they enjoyed the warm weather, made friends, and travelled the country. After many years of travelling north for the summer they chose to sell their home and permanently move to Easton, PA earlier this year. Mary Lou’s favorite past time was shopping, not just for herself, but for her family. She truly enjoyed making every birthday and holiday special. Growing up in the Airone household can be compared to a mini-Hallmark movie, just ask her children and grandchildren. Another favorite past time for her was planning her family’s next great adventure. While she hated to fly, long car trips were always accompanied by a variety of stops with activities and endless laughter. Mary Lou loathed the words, “I’m bored,” so she always had another escapade up her sleeve. Mary Lou always made sure her home was open to family and friends and her infectious smile was always there to greet them. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and one hell of a best friend.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Bernard, their children; Nikki Sommer and her husband Mike, Jennifer Rao and her husband Rohit; her grandchildren, Daisy and Veronica Sommer, and Evangeline Rao; and her sister, Eileen Redmond and her husband Cliff along with her nephew Christopher and his family.
A Viewing will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA, with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow.
Donations may be made, in Mary Lous’s name, to the American Lung Association, via lung.org/donate.
