Edward J. Connolly

Edward J. Connolly, age 91, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 12, 2025. 

Ed was born on June 9, 1934, in Phillipsburg NJ. He was the son of the late Thomas and Lena (Nemeth) Connolly and was a former resident of Bloomsbury, NJ and Lopatcong, NJ.

Ed was an Area Load Supervisor with the Jersey Central Power and Light Company and retired in 1994, after 36 years of service. He graduated from St. Philip and St. James High School with the class of 1952 and attended Penn State University for a brief time.  Ed served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957, was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 474. Ed was an avid golfer and a former member of Oak Hill Golf Club, Architects Golf Club, and was a current member of Riverview Country Club.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, his daughters, Sharon Flood and her husband Kevin who reside in Exton, PA, and Kathy Costantino and her husband Tim who reside in Palmer Twp., PA, his grandchildren, Brendan Flood and his wife, Kate, Bridget Baxter and her husband, Jeff, Timmy Costantino and Kate Costantino, Thomas Happel and his wife, Lauren and Brian Happel and his many great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his wife Jean Connolly and his daughter Karen Connolly.

A Viewing is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning, Wednesday June 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in the St. Philip and St. James Church, 430 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. The Entombment will then follow in the Holy Apostle Mausoleum at the St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, in Greenwich Twp., NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Ed, to a charity of your choice.
