On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, MaryLou Miller of Lower Nazareth Township passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 75.

MaryLou was born on January 7, 1950, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, to the late Nelson D.W. “Snapper” Snyder and Lucille Rita Phelan Snyder. She graduated from Phillipsburg Catholic High School in 1969.

MaryLou dedicated 25 years of her career to Kmart, working in the Human Resources department. Most recently, she worked at Lehigh Valley Drug and Alcohol Intake, where she deeply valued her coworkers and took great pride in her work.

MaryLou had a zest for life and a heart full of love. She enjoyed traveling and cherished family gatherings throughout the year. She never missed a loved one’s birthday or anniversary. MaryLou nurtured lifelong friendships and welcomed new ones with open arms. She treated everyone she met with kindness, empathy, and her signature warm hugs. She had a gift for seeing the best in others, and her laughter and warmth will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

MaryLou is survived by her beloved husband, soulmate, and partner of 42 years, Douglas Miller; her son, Kevin Collins, and his partner Jeannette Murphy; and her “chosen son” Ryan McGinley and his fiancée Julie Griner. She was preceded in death by her sisters Fran and sister-in-law Eleanor. MaryLou also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the companionship of her beloved cats, Ginger and Baby, as wells as several close confidants that she cherished.
