James “Jim” Edward Lucey, 74, of Easton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital on August 12, 2025, surrounded by his wife and loving family.
Born September 28, 1950, in Easton, PA, to John “Jack” Lucey and Grace Lucey, Jim spent his childhood working at the Lucey family’s stand at Bushkill Park, getting into just the right amount of trouble with his cousins and friends in Southside Easton, and charming all who knew him.
After graduating from Notre Dame High School of Green Pond and Millersville University, Jim began his career at Ingersoll Rand. In 1977, he and his partner, Rick Sauers, founded Exclusive Transportation for Industry (ETI company) which continues to thrive today.
Jim made a lasting mark on every community he touched. He served as PTA President for Sacred Heart School, was chair of the Notre Dame carnival and most notably volunteered with the Burn Prevention Network for more than three decades—serving first on the Board and later as Chairman from the late 1980s through 2022. During this time, he was instrumental in supporting the Concours d’Elegance of the Eastern U.S., which became the 3rd most prestigious classic and collector car show in the nation.
Known for his youthful spirit, steadfast loyalty, coolest van and the best homemade milkshakes, Jim lived his life with humor and generosity and was never found without a light heart or a full candy drawer.
His love for family, friends, laughter, good times, travel and shenanigans left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He truly was one of a kind and will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Karen (Purdy) Lucey, with whom he shared the last years of his life. He was a proud father to Allison Lucey and Carolyn (Lucey) Calvey and “the most great and wonderful Pops” to his seven grandchildren – Aidan, Gavin, Connor and Bennett Calvey and Maggie, Quinn and Molly Smith. He is also survived by his first wife, Jane (Meischeid) Lucey; his brother and sister-in law, John & Donna Lucey; daughter-in-law, Amanda Smith; son-in-law, Kevin Calvey; step-son, James Black, stepdaughter, Alyssa Clapp (Richard Clapp); and step-grandchildren, Chase, Emily, Cole and Ava Clapp- all of whom loved him dearly.
