Bonnie Hill Obituary

John D. Hogarth (Hoagie), 90, of Easton, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with family by his side.

David was born on August 1, 1935 in Rochester, NY to the late Margaret (Davis) and Walter Hogarth.  After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and then the USMA (West Point), he served his commission in the Army primarily in Hawaii, before being honorably discharged at the rank of Captain in 1963.  Following his service tour, he lived and partied in NYC for the next 8 years before finally settling down in Easton, PA in 1971 and co-founding Color Set Corporation shortly thereafter.

Dave’s love of golf was a constant theme throughout his life, having played countless rounds both with his wife Lynne, his older son John, and an ever-increasing number of friends at Harker’s Hollow GC and Northampton CC in the 55 years that followed his move to Easton.  He particularly loved his annual golf trips to Bermuda with Lynne every October for 10 years. Dave was also a diehard sports fan, especially of both the NY Yankees and Giants, rarely missing a televised game.

Dave is survived by Lynne, his wife of 48 years; his sons John, Jr. and wife Alexandria, and Brad and wife Kelsey, along with his grandson, David, III.  He was predeceased by his brother, Robert, in 2018.
