Beatrice M. Finnen Obituary

Katherine M. Malia, 76, of Palmer Township, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 10th, 2026. Katherine is the daughter of the late Joseph P. Malia and Helen (Gray) Malia. She was the seventh of eight children. Katherine was born in Charleroi, PA.

Katherine was a proud member of the class of 1969 of Notre Dame High School Easton. She was a graduate of Central Washington University with a degree in accounting. She was a Jesuit volunteer after her college graduation. She worked for Bechtel Corp in San Francisco, California and Toll Brothers in Clinton New Jersey.

Katherine was a beloved sister to Helen Edwards, Allentown, Mary Beegle, Bethlehem, Elizabeth Poff, Whitehall Township, Joseph P.T. Malia and wife Sharon and Alice Koskey and husband Edward. She was the very proud Aunt of Michael Edwards, daughter Maya and son Cole, Elizabeth Dodson, Husband Allen, daughters Ellie and Katie J, sons Eddie and Benedict,  Timothy Malia, wife Rebecca (Long), Thomas Malia, wife Margaret (Baummer), daughter Margaret, son Michael, Richard Beegle wife Jean (Henshaw), son Ryan, daughter Kristen, Joseph Beegle wife Heidi (Miltonberg) daughter Hannah, James Beegle wife Kate (Schuttauf) daughters Lauren and Rachel, Kevin Bogari, wife Donna (Nealon), son Justin Bukeavich, Jeff Bogari, Beth (Bogari) Glenn husband Sheridan son Wyatt and daughter Lorelei, Charles Poff and wife Amber (Xander) sons Dylan, David, Devin and daughters Angelina and Gabrielle. Greg Poff and son Abel. Brian Malia and wife Alison (Deturk). Jennifer Sopoliga – Malia, son Owen, Seanna Malia. Edward Koskey and wife Laura Petrucelli, Katherine (Koskey) Matonis husband Dennis, daughters Kayden and Madalyn. Great nephew Colin Poff, great nieces Sylvanas Davary-Estrella Drop and Nia Sylvanas Amara Drop.

Katherine was predeceased by her brother Michael Malia, wife Judy (Opdyke), brother-in-law Richard Beegle, sister Julia Bogari, husband Robert, nephew Michael Sean Malia and great niece Ashley Bukeavich.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jon Raso and his staff, her neighbors Renee Wilkins and Mike Radogna.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Township, PA at 11am on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026. Calling hours will be from 9:15 AM to 10:45 AM at the church. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Township. The Finegan Funeral Home, of Palmer Twp., has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Katherine’s memory to Notre Dame High School, The American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
