Robert P. Cosgrove

Robert “Cos” Cosgrove, 80, of Nazareth, PA, formerly of South River, NJ, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was born on October 28, 1945, in Woodbridge, NJ, son of the late George and Agnes (Geary) Cosgrove, and brother of the late Joanne (Cosgrove) Curry. He grew up in the Avenel community of Woodbridge, NJ.  

Cos was known for his race car lettering and artistry, most notably his hand-painted race cars and fire truck lettering up and down the East Coast. He was inducted to The Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club (GSVSCC) in 2015 in honor of his well-respected and beloved race car lettering and artistry. Cos especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family at local and national racetracks over the years. 

Cos was a beloved husband and devoted hard-working father who instilled a love of travel and adventure in his four boys – highlighted by many visits to Lake George, NY. He had a contagious laugh and was passionate about supporting his strong network of friends and wonderful family. He never let an opportunity for a corny joke or pun get past him. 

Cos is survived by his wife, Kathleen F. Cosgrove, of Nazareth; children, Steven R. Cosgrove, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Christopher R. Cosgrove of Abingdon, MD, Gregory R. Cosgrove of West Lawn, PA and Jeffrey R. Cosgrove of Palmer, PA; grandchildren Harrison Cosgrove, Margot Cosgrove, Mattingly Cosgrove, Delaney Cosgrove, Kenneth Cosgrove, McKaylah Cosgrove, Rhiley Cosgrove and Bryce Cosgrove; daughter-in-law Tanya Cosgrove, Stephanie Cosgrove, Kayo Cosgrove, Camille Cosgrove; cousins Maureen Holian and her husband Joseph Holian, and Katherine Shields. 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday August 8th, 2026 from 9am to 11am (with ceremony to follow) at The Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Palmer Twp., PA. The Interment will directly follow at Plainfield Cemetery located 1424 Church Rd, Pen Argyl, PA near St Peter’s Church.
