Anne (Woolaver) Meteyard, - Obituary

Anne (Woolaver) Meteyard, aged 91, peacefully passed away on January 8, 2024 in Allentown, PA. She was born in Easton, PA on November 28,1932 and graduated from Frenchtown (NJ) High School.  Anne was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Sally Christine.  She is survived by her husband and best friend of 60 years, Hugh, daughter Elizabeth Gill (Jeffrey), son in law Robert Christine, and five grandchildren: Emily (Dan) Carballeria, Allison, Ryan, Ashley Gill and Olivia Christine.

Anne had a full and rich life.  In her young adult years, she served as a flight attendant for National Airlines, during a time when air travel was synonymous with luxury. Her base was in Jacksonville, FL, and Anne’s regular route took her from Boston to Havana, Cuba. Subsequently, Anne returned to her roots in New Jersey, where she enjoyed working as an executive secretary at Ethicon, Inc.

Anne’s most cherished role was that of a dedicated wife and mother. After marrying and welcoming her two daughters, she embraced being a loving and supportive mother, filling her family home with love, laughter and good food. Her love further expanded as she added the role of devoted Grammy. Anne’s legacy of love and commitment will forever be appreciated by those who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Anne’s life during calling hours on Friday, January 19, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA. Elizabeth will share heartfelt words of love and remembrance for Anne at 4:00 PM.
