Aurora Costa Rodrigues

Aurora Costa Rodrigues passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2026, surrounded by her children and grandchildren in her final hours.

Aurora was born on April 20, 1937 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her parents, Laurindo Cunha and Maria da Conceição Costa Cunha were born in Portugal. She married her beloved husband Ilidio at 17 years old, and by 19 had 2 children. In 1962, Aurora and Ilidio immigrated to New Jersey with their 2 young children and bravely made a new life for themselves in the United States despite many struggles in those early years. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Aurora was known to be an excellent seamstress. She often sewed clothing for members of her own family, and in fact she sewed her own wedding dress.

Aurora will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, infectious laughter and strong devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Paul and Maria de Fatima Rodrigues, her son in law Julio and daughter in law Joan, her grandchildren Paul Jr, Eileen, Gabriela and Daniel, her great grandchild Sebastian Rodrigues and her younger sister Aurea Costa. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Ilidio Rodrigues, and her siblings Zeca Cunha, Alzira de Figueiredo, and Ernane Cunha.

A Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA, with a Funeral Service to immediately follow. The interment will then be at Forks Cemetery, Stockertown, PA.
