Charles G. “Jake” Scheetz, 92, of Forks Township, PA, passed away while surrounded by his family on Monday, August 18, 2025.
Born on September 27, 1932, in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Louise (Schweitzer) Scheetz.
Charles played football for Easton High School and graduated with the class of 1950. After graduating, Charles joined the United States Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division. Charles was always known to be a jokester who enjoyed spending his time watching the Philadelphia Eagles, woodworking and fixing anything that needed fixing. A common phrase uttered by his family was, “It broke but Pop Pop can fix everything.” Anyone who met Charles enjoyed his company and above all else he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary (Cappadona) Scheetz, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage, his children, Cindy Dennis and her husband, Paul, of Palmer Township, PA and Chuck Scheetz and his wife, Antonella Giuliana-Scheetz, also of Palmer Township, PA, his grandchildren, Matt, Mike, Luke and Emma, his great grandchildren, Nolan, Leah and Gavin and his many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Charles was predeceased by his siblings, Louise, Bob, Lolly, Harold, Edward and Betty.
A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave, Easton, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1:00 PM. The interment will then be at Hay’s Cemetery, Easton, PA.
