Daniel Murphy

Dan’s family is heartbroken to announce that Daniel Murphy (Murph), 71, of Alburtis, PA, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his loving wife, Shelley (Hunsicker), family and faithful companion Rusty, his Cavapoo, on August, 28, 2024, after a brief illness.

Born June 26, 1953, in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Frieda Grace Norwich and Donald Patrick Murphy. Moving to Wilson Borough, PA, he attended Wilson Borough High School, where he met the love of his life before moving back to Newark, NJ. Twenty-nine years later Dan and Shelley were reunited and married in 1997, they would have celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on January 24, 2025.

He worked for Maitz Home Services before obtaining his Master’s Plumbing License from LCCC and following his dreams of owning and operating Dan’s Plumbing and Repair Service of Alburtis, PA, for 30 years.

He will lovingly be remembered for his love of music, singing karaoke with friends Joy and Terry, dancing with his wife, his offbeat sense of humor, vacationing in Ocean City, MD, holiday parties, getting together with family and friends and his fur baby Rusty, who never left his side.

Dan is survived by his wife Shelley (Hunsicker, formerly from Wilson Borough), Son: Daniel C. Murphy (Allentown, PA), Brother: James Murphy (Catasauqua, PA), Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: Bradley and Colleen Hunsicker (Palmer Township, PA), Daughter in law: Lisa Farnack and Husband, Rudy (Bath, PA), Granddaughter: Kayla Murphy (Bath, PA), Grandson: Guy Murphy (Saylorsburg, PA), three Great-Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and Great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father: Donald P. Murphy Sr., mother: Frieda G. (Norwich) Bonney, brothers: Kelly M. Murphy and Donald Murphy, sons: Guy Murphy and Jeremy D. Leech (stepson).

Calling Hours are scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA, with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow.
