Daria A. Hugel, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, with family holding her hand.
Born October 10, 1939, in Ukraine, she was a daughter of the late Osyp Kusznir and Natalia Welykopolska. Her late husband, Lubomyr M. Hugel, passed away June 28, 1998 on their 28th wedding anniversary.
Daria enjoyed her work as a nurse’s aide, COBOL programmer, and reading microscopes before raising three strong, smart, and beautiful children with her husband while traveling the world for his work. She is remembered for her embroidery, paintings, and keeping her mind active with university level DVD courses.
Surviving are three children, Bohdan Hugel and his wife Shannon, of Selma, NC; Roxana Vandermark and her husband Greg of Ponder, TX, and Tamara Pallone and her husband Ryan of Leesburg, VA;
Her sister, Oksana Pakush of Pinkerington, OH;
Six grandchildren, Anastasia Deiter and her husband Derek, Alexander Vandermark and his wife Sarah, Lily Vandermark, Trenton Pallone, Vance Pallone, and Samantha Hugel; and two great-grandchildren, Keaton and Micah Deiter. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Taras Kushnir.
A Calling hour will be held on Saturday December 21, 2024 at 10 am with Services at 11 am at The Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA. Burial will follow at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery of Bethlehem, PA.
