In Loving Memory of Denise Mary (Loughran) Tavares
July 31, 1950 – October 1, 2025
Denise Mary Tavares, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (“GiGi”), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 1, 2025, in Allentown, PA, at the age of 75.
Born on July 31, 1950, in New York, Denise was the first of three children to John and Loretta Loughran. She dedicated her career to Guardian Life Insurance, where she worked faithfully for many years. Beyond her professional life, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends – moments she cherished deeply.
Denise is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her grandchildren, Danielle and James; great-grandchildren, Raegan and Ryler (“RJ”); and daughter (in-law), Dorene. She is also survived by her sister, Monica (Loughran) Martin; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Laura Loughran; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother-in-law, Bob, many dear cousins and friends, and her only child, Jimmy.
Denise was an extraordinary woman in countless ways. Her presence was a constant source of warmth, support, and connection. As a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, she shared a deep and loving bond with all those around her. She held her family close in both word and deed, touching their lives with quiet strength, unwavering compassion, and unconditional love. Denise was always there to listen, never judged, and greeted life with grace – even in times of great struggle. She was grateful for the time she was given and faced every challenge with a smile. Her resilience was truly remarkable. Through many years of illness and adversity, Denise defied the odds time and again. In the end, she leaves behind not just memories, but an enduring example of courage, kindness and love.
She will be missed more than words can express – but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
