Gail B. Schmeal, 90, of Forks Twp., PA, formerly of Mendham, NJ, passed away on November 6, 2024 in Bethlehem, PA.
Born in East Orange, NJ on January 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Almeta M. Nixon Bishop. Gail’s husband, George W. Schmeal, passed away in 2017. She was a Home Economics teacher in Mount Olive, NJ for many years. After retirement, she was involved in local garden clubs and gourmet cooking groups. She loved opening up her home to entertain her friends and neighbors.
Gail is survived by her son Bruce and his wife Amy of Chester, NJ, sister Lynn Keating of Pennsylvania, grandsons Kurt Schmeal of Delaware and Eric Schmeal of Chester, NJ, nephews John Keating and wife Amy, Brad Keating, and niece Almeta Keating.
A private interment service will be followed by a Celebration of Life on November 23, 2024 at the Chester Fire House on Main St. in Chester, NJ at 12 noon.
Donations may be made, in Gail’s name, to a local library of one’s choice or to the St. Luke’s Hospice House, 2455 Black River Rd, Bethlehem, PA, 18015.
