Maria Rusconi Singer passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 17, 1933, in Darfo, Italy, Maria was the daughter of the late Federico and Francesca Rusconi. She met the love of her life, the late Richard Singer Sr., in France while he was serving in the U.S. Army. They were married in Étain, France, and later moved to the United States in the 1950s, where Maria began fulfilling her lifelong roles as a devoted wife, loving mother, and the most cherished Nonna her grandchildren could ever hope for.
Maria’s Italian accent never faded — a beautiful reminder of her roots that endeared her to all who met her. With a heart of gold, she welcomed everyone into her life like family. Her warmth, generosity, and kind spirit made her unforgettable.
A true social butterfly, Maria loved to travel and spent many joyful years attending motorhome rallies with her husband. After moving to Florida, she quickly formed close friendships with neighbors who shared her passion for crafts. Creative and resourceful, Maria had a gift for turning the simplest materials into something beautiful — from transforming a plastic bottle into a flower pot to crafting elegant jewelry from beads and string.
More than anything, Maria loved her family. She was deeply proud of each of them and never missed a chance to share that pride with others.
Maria is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Singer Sr., and her son-in-law, Dave Zerby.
She is survived by her four children: Keena Singer of Easton, PA; Theresa Zerby of Bath, PA; Anita Gischel and her husband Bill of Easton, PA; and Richard Singer Jr.; her daughter-in-law Teri Singer; her five granddaughters: Dorothy Hoch, Danielle Crisafulli, Amanda DeGroat, Kristen Noble, and Francesca Weiss; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Elvira and husband Pierre; and their children Sylvan and Mylène, her brother Walter and wife Christine who reside in France; and their daughters, Nadège and Séverine.
Maria’s love, creativity, and vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA, with a Funeral Service to directly follow. The interment will then be at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township, PA.
