Marian Beitel Lennen, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, nurse, and educator, passed away peacefully from natural causes on September 29, 2026, near her adopted home of Red Lodge, Montana. She was 94 years old.
Born to Ferdinand and Dorothy Williams Beitel of Easton, Pennsylvania, Marian grew up in Easton and graduated from Easton High School in 1949. She continued her education at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, where she became a registered nurse. Her love of learning and teaching later led her to East Stroudsburg University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Marian devoted much of her professional life to nursing and education, and took tremendous pride in her work. She was employed as a registered nurse, a hospital in-service education instructor, a supervisor of nursing for the hospital, and later as a Health Careers instructor for high school juniors and seniors. Her years as both a nurse and educator were an important part of who she was, and she continued to share her knowledge and experience long after her retirement.
Outside of her professional life, Marian found happiness in the simple things she loved – trips to the beach, shopping, playing cards, spending time with friends, and attending Lafayette College games with her husband, Ronald.
But the greatest joy of Marian’s life was always her family.
Her husband of 62 years, Ronald, was the love of her life, and together they built a beautiful life and family. She was a devoted mother to Rebecca and Ronnie, and a deeply loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She treasured being part of their lives and took enormous pride in each generation of her family.
Marian was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Lennen; her son, Ronnie Lennen; and her parents Ferdinand and Dorothy Beitel.
Marian is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Crocket; her grandchildren, David Crocket (Callie) of Red Lodge, Montana; Abigail Crocket (Gabriel) of Red Lodge, Montana; and Sarah Whitney (Ben) of Arvada, Colorado; and her three great-grandchildren, Emma Crocket, Alia Crocket and Luca Curiel.
Marian is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Dunn, and her brothers, Thomas Beitel (Cynthia) and Carl Beitel.
Marian lived a long and meaningful life. The lessons she taught, the care she gave, the traditions she helped create, and the memories she leaves behind will continue through the generations of the family she loved so deeply. She will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 3900 Freemansburg Ave., Easton, PA 18045, in memory of Ronald, Marian, and Ronnie Lennen.
