P. Peter Lytwyn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Peter Lytwyn on October 14, 2024 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Peter was born on December 28, 1957 to William and Emily Lytwyn in Plainfield, New Jersey. 

Peter grew up in Greenbrook, New Jersey. He graduated from Greenbrook High School in 1976. What he enjoyed most about high school was playing basketball where he continued the Lytwyn legacy started by his brothers. Peter shared his love for basketball by coaching his three sons throughout grade school. 

Peter was very lucky to enjoy summers in Lavallette where he shared many memories with his family. He loved saltwater fishing and had countless stories about his adventures along the Jersey shore.

Graduating from Rutgers University in 1980, Peter went on to pursue a career as an electrician. He became part owner of an electrical company in New Jersey where he worked for over thirty years. Upon leaving the company he was in the process of building a successful electrical business in the Lehigh Valley that aligned with the already established businesses of his sons, whom he was most proud of.

Through his brother Luke, Peter met his soulmate Carol Wance whom he married in 1986 and had three sons. He was an adoring husband and loved being a father. His goal in life was providing the best for his family and focusing on their lives, their activities, and their goals. 

The woods called Peter and his sons where they built a strong love for hunting and fishing. Many wonderful memories were made at their cabin in the woods. It seemed that every season was either a hunting season or a season of preparation for hunting. 

Peter also loved golfing. He especially loved golfing with his brother, Jeffrey and also his friends Tim, Rich, and Bruce. He loved playing the sport, but never seemed to have enough time for hitting that little ball around the course. He also loved biking, exercising, and traveling with his wife.

In addition to his wife, Carol; he is survived by his son; Alex, son; Zach and his wife Brandi; and his son, Tyler. He enjoyed his step grandson, Bryce. He is survived by his brother; Jeffrey and his wife, Paula; a brother, Matthew and his wife Laura, along with his sister; Paula and her husband, Kevin McBride, and a sister; Daria. Also surviving Peter is his brother-in-law, Michael Wance and his wife, Christine and their children; Nicholas and Courtney. Peter was loved by many nieces and nephews; William, Brittney, and Jessica Lytwyn; Erinn and Ashley Lytwyn; Kate, Matthew, Andrew, and Ellie McBride, and Justin, Brian, Julie, and Joseph Lytwyn. He also loved his many great nieces and great nephews. 

A Viewing is scheduled for Friday, October 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA. There will be an additional Viewing Period the following morning, Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 4049 Hartley Ave, Easton, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 AM.
