Richard P. Hinkel Obituary

Richard P. Hinkel, son of the late Joseph W. and Doris A. (Paul) Hinkel, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Sunday, October 26, 2025.

He loved his family, his labradors, sports, and music. Rich worked 23 years for Sammons Communications and 24 years with Service Electric Cable TV. He was a member of the IBEW Local 375.

In his youth, he was a co-captain on his EAHS soccer team. He later became a member of the John and Rich slow-pitch softball championship team. He also coached youth baseball and football for the Forks Township Athletic Association in Easton, PA. 

He is survived by his two sons, Shawn (of Nazareth) and his wife Delcie, their children Hunter, Austin, and Abigail, and Brad (of Allentown) and his wife Vanessa, and their children Kayla, Brad Jr., and Alyvea, his companion/partner of 28 years Irene Young, as well as his brother Denny. He is preceded in death by his brother David.

Rich was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Forks Twp.

Services are to be held privately.
