Thomas Fitzgerald, 71, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at home. Born on June 30, 1954, in Plainfield, NJ. Tom was the son of Charles (d.) and Dorothy (Hamill) Fitzgerald. He grew up in Plainfield and Warren Township, NJ, where he developed strong foundations in faith, family and work. Tom graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School ‘72. He attended the Culinary Institute of America and Somerset County Community College. Tom worked as a supervisor for Williams in Berkeley Heights, NJ before joining UPS. He served as a Shop Steward for Teamsters Local 177. After retiring from UPS, he enjoyed the atmosphere and part time position at Wegmans. Tom was known for his strong work ethic and took pride in providing for his family.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and golf, as well as, finance, music, history and documentaries.
Many of his peers went to him for financial advice, as he was well informed and willing to share his knowledge. After retiring, Tom learned to golf and loved the game. He always seemed to find ways to improve his game and lower his score. He coached St. Jane’s boys’ basketball, participated in golf tournaments and volunteered at the 42nd US Senior Open Saucon Valley. Woven through the years were many shared moments with family and friends.
Tom resided in Forks Township and was a communicant at Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Church. His faith was important and he and Nancy were members of a close-knit prayer group for 27 years. Tom was a man of few words but deep conviction and strong beliefs and always chose to do what he thought was right.
In addition to his mother, Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy; his son Chad (Maya) and his daughters Ashley and Bridget (Mitch); and his four grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings: Chad, MaryEllen Jenzer, Noreen, and Jim, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is missed by Rocky, the family dog. May he rest in eternal peace.
Services will be held at Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Township, PA on Friday, June 19, 2026. Calling will be held from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM. Interment will then take place at the Northampton Memorial Shrine. The Finegan Funeral Home of Easton has been entrusted with arrangements.
